Congrats on the new ride.

I wear a Bell RS-1. Good ventilation and the fit is really nice. Not a lot of wind noise either.

Congrats on the bike, I bet it kills waiting for everything haha. As far as helmets I use an Akoury AK 88, the best half helmet I have ever put on my head love the ratchet on and off super handy, extract light! Love that thing and there are a lot of videos on it now. I use a full face only in the winter time. Helps with the cold but I really don't like them because of how it limits my view, how heavy, and more wind resistance. As far as bugs and things or sand especially here in El Paso I just use a bandana.

I bought a 3/4 helmet with flip down face shield that is very comfy to me.
Congrats!

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm going to lookup each helmet suggested here. The sales person at HD said the Bell Rogue helmet was doing well (it has that removable face/chin piece) but I didn't like it on. It's really a half helmet that is large & I looked like a mushroom.

Looks like I may need to get a tuner by some of the responses. Maybe DKCustom can chime in here since I bought the VIED from them. I understood it would be sufficient and I will never do stage 2 mods to be honest. That's why I went with it (oh and its cheaper).

ViED's are a budget way to help your bike get away from the too lean stock tune. They work very well, and thousands are happy with them on their stock-up to Stage 1- bikes.

I ran one one on my sporty for 3+ years and was very happy.

However, as stated, to get the most out of your bike, a full tuner is better. With the XiED product you are leaving 10-15% of the available power on the table.

So, it all depends on your budget and what you want to get out of the bike. Around $100 for 85%-90% of what's available, or $500+ to get everything you can out of the bike. Personal preference/budget...either will work well.

Here is a good overview of the popular options-

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/ignit...uning-etc.html

When going to a full tuner, I don't think you can do better than a Power Vision Package. See details HERE.

I'm not worried about that 10-15% power. I'm more worried about decel popping than anything when changing the exhaust out. And pissing off my neighbors with noise. I'll stick with the VIED and can't wait to get this stuff in. Also ordered the coil relocation kit...I really like the way that looks.

I'm coming from an R-1 sport bike that has a top speed of 186mph and I am WELL over those days of speed. The streetbob has plenty for my cruising needs. The thing feels and sounds like a beast, I love it !

I have the short shots & quiet baffles coming in today. I also orderd the Hard Kore baffles to go in conjunction with the quiet baffles but I'm thinking it may help with the decel popping. I'm just guessing/hoping.

Ride it for a while, then you will know what/if anything you want to add on for comfort, aesthetics, sound or power
Thats good advise..I think you are doing too much before even getting to know your bike. You will end up spending more money by replacing the stuff you already bought once you've been riding it awhile.

Full face helmets will give you the best protection if you can stand the tightness and the heat. You will learn not to believe anything the harley dealerships tell you, they just want you to spend more money.

Congrats on the new bike.

Handlebars are coming in today also. I believe I have it all in my head on how to swap handlebars...only thing I'm not 100% on is the wiring.

I believe I need to undo the tank (no need to remove it) and slide it back. The 2014 connectors will fit thru the bars without using the paperclip "tool". If anyone knows please let me know.

Also seems like I need to readjust the throttle cables and clutch cable once i get the new bars on. I probably should've ordered new grips!

thanks.

I'm 100% on almost everything I bought. I went into this with months of searching, reading, planning, etc. The only thing I am unsure of are the handlebars but I knew 100% I wanted something other than stock. I had a list of stuff I knew for sure I wanted. Another list for things I am unsure of and will give it time to see.

Like the guy at HD told me. Buying the bike is just a downpayment because you are always buying parts afterwards.
