I tried several softails and just didn't hit it for me. Felt cramped ( I'm tall) and just couldn't take the Kentucky back roads like I wanted. Comming from a 883 sportster I wanted to be able to have fun in curves and have a heavy cruising bike. The solution...Wide Glide.
+1
But seriously the Slim looks like a bad *** bike, he just needs to ride them both to figure out what suits him better.
Showed him this thread and he's at the dealership now making a deal on a DYNA! He said the way he wanna be able to keep up with the big boys although he loved the look of the softail he prefers hitting corners hard

Solid choice. I've had both and IMO a Softail doesn't hold a candle to a Dyna. Bikes built for different purposes.
I was looking at the slim Saturday when I stopped by the dealer. It's a good looking bike but it's not the right bike for someone who's into canyon carving. It's a cruiser to putt around on for the weekend warriors
I believe the dealer let him walk away empty handed, showed him ur bike I'll let u know if he interested
Wow, what happened at the dealer?
I can tell you this, if he likes the softail custom as far as style, he wont find a cleaner one with many, many mods done. Engine is strong and runs like a top, very clean all over and very comfortable with the shotgun shock and ricor intiminator/progressive springs front end combo. People think its new (people that dont know Harley stopped selling the Custom in the states).
