So after my initial build I had my bike dyno'd. Made 111/110, but after a few weeks riding I noticed at higher rpm's there was some ping'ing, so I went back to the shop to explain what was going on. To make a long story short instead of putting my bike back on the dyno he just hooked my tuner up and took some timing out. I will say it did work, but I felt it should have been put back on the dyno to get it dialed in right, I mean that is what I paid for.
Anyway, moved out here to Hi and I had some cash extra cash burning a whole in my pocket so I figured I'd get my bike dyno'd again. I get a call saying "she's done!" I head down and start looking at the printout. First pull 99/102, with a final tune making 105/106? So for some reason I dropped a few horses? So then I get home and start looking at my mileage. After taking off the distance I drove home it looks like only 10 miles was put on my bike during the dyno? The first time it was dyno'd I want to say 30+ miles was put on? Not to mention if you look at the printout it looks almost identical to the original tune? I'm getting pissed the more I think about it. I have zero clue on how to read this printout. Any feedback would be appreciated...
One performance input I got is if you want to get rid of that torque dip from 2300 to 3400 rpm and get much better performance in that important area - get better pipes.
Would not worry too much about the 4-5 percent difference between the tunes, that does not seem too crazy. 10 miles on the dyno seems very low though. Ask that last dyno guy to give you a SAE printout with rpm on the horizontal axis - easier to compare then. Kinda think the first guy got it pretty close, and the second guy had very little to do.
Yea I know I need a better 2-1 pipe, I just can't afford it right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the results, considering it's still a 103. Thanks for the advice. I'll roll over and see if they can give me that printout as well...
