Ok so as Ive been riding lately Ive noticed dots of oil on my exhaust, battery bag and cover. I couldnt figure out where the oil was coming from as all my bolts for my intake were tight and stuff.
So I decided to take my intake apart to diagnose the situation. Upon removing just two of the outer bolts and letting the one part swing down, I saw this.
There was lots of oil along the edge of the acrylic on both sides. After removing the last screw and the acrylic piece there was oil dripping from the rubber of the filter. However, there was no oil ON the filter itself or inside the throttle body. All the oil was just on the edge around the acrylic.
K&N filter? Looks like its vented to ground so thats not the issue.
Yeah, I originally had the breather bolts and got the spray from them. Ended up routing the bolts through hoses to the ground and that made everything much cleaner. But now I have this issue which is really weird.
Other than an over oiled air filter there is no oil in the TB.
Nope, no oil on the filter, not even too much from the factory. This literally just started happening in the past 100 miles. The intake has been on for the past 2500 miles.
My crankcase breather tubes, into the back of the filter, use to do this. I started running the bike 1/3 qt lower and it stopped doing that. It worked for me.

Yeah but I routed my breather bolts into hoses down to the bottom of the bike(can barely see in the picture). They aren't routed back into the filter.
