It will definitely blue. Your best option short of replacement would be to weld it and get it re-chromed. Check the yellow pages or talk to your local dealer/indy to find a chromer. Bridgeport, East Hartford, Meridan, there's a few options and it shouldn't be that expensive.
you can weld it, wet cool rag on the back keep your heat down, slow... does not have to be a solid bead it is just shield supports so tacks will be fine, we have done several
I think I'm going to give it a shot. I've got some spare chrome pieces that I can practice on. I'm going to try to keep the welds to a minimum and also use the wet rag idea.

As thin as it is a good tig welder can do it. Still may discolor but worth a shot. Looks like a Vance and hines. How old? Price a replacement if they won't stand behind it.
