Fatbob's the go, Recently done 4000k's 2500miles in 5 days, Comfy as..Pull the Soft bags off and sissy bar and it's back to normal. But if I was doing those miles regularly I'd probably get a street/road glide.

Just for kicks get out on a Low Rider Or other Dyna with mid controls. I was ready to buy a bike with forwards and changed my mind after riding both. Just saying....

I sold an Electra Glide Classic and bought a 2013 Fat Bob because I wanted something lighter and with better handling. Very happy with the bike. I was reluctant about the forward controls but have found them to be very comfortable. Other surprises include much better suspension (the Electra Glide with driving me crazy with the harsh ride), a much smoother transmission (no excessive "clunk" when shifting from neutral) and better acceleration. The only thing I miss is the storage.

Both are great bikes but you answered your own question. Fat bob will be your best choice in the entire harely line up. With a few suspension mods it will do a decent job cruising the twisties but will also be a comfortable cruiser.

Test ride them both and decide.

I am a bit biased as I vote for roadking (had 2 roadkings in the past) overall very versatile all around bike.
But I do love my current ride a dyna lowrider.

I have had two Road Kings and a Street Glide. I now have a 2014 Dyna Low Rider. If you are going to do lots of mileage a few times a month then get the Road King. If not, a Dyna makes more sense. I have about 2000 miles on my Low Rider now and I don't miss the touring bikes at all. I think you should take a Low Rider for a spin before you make up your mind. It's quite sporty for a Harley.

I have a RKC and a Fatbob. For in and around town or for short runs take the Fatbob. For trips just remember they don't call it a Road King for nothing.

And you can tour on a Dyna. I did Sturgis one year on a Sportster while rest of the guys I rode with had big twins. Took my Sportster up and down 95 numerous times from NC toFL and made the trip to DC one year to Rolling Thunder.

You can make any bike a touring bike with the right seat and bags.

Wife and I have been touring on separate bikes since 08, her on a Low Rider and myself on a Fat Bob. Dealer even lent me his personal 120R Road Glide for a couple of days to convince me I should have a bagger; just too heavy for my tastes. The Fat Bob is borderline heavy compared to my former T Sport; but it handles well and I much prefer mids with highway pegs especially in twisties. Just did nearly 3000 miles thru Washington, Idaho and Oregon and couldn't be happier. As for cruising; the Fat Bob is a piece of cake in traffic and thru town...
