A few more months when I get home I'll be starting my winter rebuild and was playing around with Paint on the ol' computer and came up with a paint job that I really might go with. Would be gloss black and medium metallic gray and synergy green pin striping to separate the two. Then on one saddle bag will be a 58 and a 14 on the other for when my dad was born and passed away. Not sure what to do on both sides of the tank. Well here is a picture I made with Paint.
Also will be some powder coating, going with drag bars and a 23" wheel with a 130/60-23 up front

Reason: Picture with drawn Drag bars
That scheme should look great. Black and Charcoal look awesome together. Like the tribute to your Pop as well. I did living tribute on my tanks of both my parents a few year back during the makeover of my Springer.
I really dig the idea of the two tone with the pin stripe and making it a tribute to your oldman. I just want to throw you another little idea that would maybe add a little 1958 flare to the paint scheme. The 1958' Harley Duo Glide had a paint pattern like the one I changed your concept to in the pic below I and I took that scheeme over to the bags and changed up the script of the numbers to give it an older feel. Again, its just an idea, take what you want from it. If you do like it, there is a round emblem that goes in the round section of the paint pattern, maybe do something like that but with a 2014' feel. I also think it gives the bags kind of a stretched look too.
