2008 fxdc
Definitley do a stage one with a pcv or other fuel management option. It will really un-hobble the bike. Consider Fuel moto if you go with a pcv. Free maps for life. Go with a chome backing plate as it looks perfect on the fxdc.
Some things I've done to mine that you may consider. The stock 12.5 shocks are a bit on the high side for my preference. Simply going to 12 inch shocks will considerably drop it. Adding highway pegs for comfort if you plan on going on long rides. Cosmetically, there are so many directions you could go. Apes, drags, z bars, etc... I went through all of them and settled on apes. Chrome headbolt covers really make the your engine and chrome pop, especially with your blonde engine. When it's time for a rear tire change I would suggest considering a Dunlop gt502 rear 180 tire. I have the dunlops in front and rear and the bike rides very well. The 180 will really fill out the rear fender nicely. Lots of other little things, but its all a matter of preference.
Enjoy and congrats!
Cheers,
Tom

Thank you Tom for your advices ... my first priority i think it would be to have forward controls ... i didn't know that a 180 tire can be installed ? do i need other mods for that ? ... do i change the wheel ?

There is debate on whether you need to purchase the kit or just the tire etc... I bought the kit had it installed and never thought about it being a bad idea.
Here is a link to the rear tire:

I am getting ready to purchase my 2nd gt502, I ended up getting over 10k miles on the rear and a bit less on the matching front. They stick really well and look great imho. Other riders have reported getting much less mileage out of there gt502 rear tires. I keep my tires inflated to near recommended specs religiously, perhaps that has something to do with why I got over 10 k out of it, perhaps it's my riding style etc...YMMV...literally =)
Good luck with any and all mods on your new bike.
Cheers,
Tom
