Hi
I am just looking for GOOD things or BAd thing about engine guards I am just looking at them and wondering about safety and the look of the bike . I am just looking for some feed back from you guys
That was my first install on my '07 FXDL...partly because it was my first bike and i was terrified of dropping it. Luckily for me, i ran across a Craigslist ad for a guy selling a Lindbar highway bar for $100....which is an absolute steal. Look into the Lindbars....better looking than the HD bars and they double as engine guards and highway bars which is convenient if you have mid controls.
IMO, takes away from the look of the bike. I would never put them on my Wideglide even though they might save me some $$$ if I ever drop it. However, they were one of the first things I put on my wife's sporty.

Linbars suck IMHO. I had a friend lose his leg due to the top mount on the Linbar ripped out and the bar folded which pinched his leg in between the bike and the bar on the left side while he went over the handlebars
