I did a stage 1 and tune on my 2016 Road King. I have a set of 2 1/2" baffled Full Boar 3 1/2" slip-ons, a K&N drop-in filter and nothing else. I used a canned map per V&H tech in my FP3 to do the job. I haven't done an auto tune yet. I was a tad disappointed in the outcome. I did the dyno runs at my local HD dealer. They told me that the results were pretty much usual and OK.
Very typical of a fp3 canned tune. A LOT can be gained from a real tune. Auto tune sessions will not improve the Dyno graph but should improve rideability.

Yes, auto tune will improve closed loop operation (part throttle) but not open loop at WOT. Peak HP and TQ will remain the same. Drivability is much better than stock already now but I intend on playing with auto tune in my spare time just the same.
FWIW, my stage 1 07 Softail Standard dyno'd 75 hp and 90 tq with Superchip's Vigilante but every once in a while I got just a touch of detonation. I'd rather give up a few ponies on my Road King rather than living on the ragged edge of too much timing. AFR was good on the Softail.
