Hey guys, wanted to hear some thoughts. Here's my set up:
2015 RGS
103"
Dave Mackie 575L cams
fuel moto air cleaner
SPF stepped head 2-1 exhaust
Power Vison
Just got my bike back from a very reputable tuner and was a little surprised at the Dyno chart. I replaced my Rinehart Slimlines with a SPF and I figured I'd lose some torque due to it being so short but I didn't think I'd see a dip like this. As far as rideability it does feel "soft" in the 2200-2900 range but feels like a good tune.
Short of "dude, get a new exhuast", any recommendations on getting back some low-midrange.
Also the SPF has stepped headers 1 3/4"-1 7/8"-2" and a 2.5" diameter 8" long perferated baffle core.
I wouldn't discount the pipe that quickly. Its sized similiar to other 2n1 pipes , .......maybe the muffler flows a little much? Edit: I was thinking about the bobcat I run, similiar length. 1.75 to 2 to 2.25 at the collector/muffler. So ya maybe it's a little big. I'm still running this pipe on my 124.

Didn't you also install the MR 103 cam... Its a bolt in compression increase...
Compression would help but Im sorry to say dude, you need another exhaust.
Nothing unexpected with that setup. Hell, take a look at a Thunderheader graph with its innfamous thunderheader dip.
If you are happy with the way it runs, great, otherwise modding or replacing it is your challenge.
Seems looks and sound trumps performance or every bagger would sport similar, long primary exhausts with big volumeness mufflers.

I am assuming a 2.5 collector? I don't like to go down in size after that so, I suggest reworking your baffle with a spiral louvered.
Yeah, collector is 2.5 also. I was thinking of making my own 2" perferated baffle, why are you against reductions after the collector? I'm sure I could find a 2.5" spiral baffle and make it work.

Form over function for this guy. I'm happy with the tune but I can feel a "soft throttle " at the 2500 rpm range. if theres something I can do to flatten it even a little, I think I'd be happy.
I bought a thunder torque insert from DK customs. I've used lollipops in the past with success, gonna give this product a try and dyno it again and see what happens.
Not sure that the dip is a pipe issue...look at the AFR at that rpm ...both are going down in the 12-11 range ...would try leaning it out some(and the timing advanced a few) ..or start the pull at 2700 instead of 2000 ...which is closer to highway speeds (and is where the fuel is starting to get right ) ...
really seems like a tuning issue...
