2005 1200 xlc I haven't been experiencing any starting problems until today. I rode my bike about 45 miles parked it for about 2 hours. Went out to start it and nothing. My switch is on bike is in neutral all connections are tight. I hooked up the charger and it says battery is fully charged. The lights come on but dim when I try starting it. There is no dead battery clicking.
No FOB. could battery have enough juice to "fool" the battery charger into maintenance mode but still not have enough juice to turn the engine over?
I had my battery on a brand new tender all winter inside and it had a green light all winter. I put it in the bike and it wouldn't start. I ended up buying a new battery.
What exactly is happening? Is the start relay clicking, is the starter silonoid clicking?
Have you cleaned your cables?
What voltage reading are you getting on the battery, sitting, while trying to start?

The kill switch is in correct position the bike is in neutral. I insert the key turn key to start position then push starter switch at this point the lights dim considerably but absolutely nothing else happens ie no clicking no sound at all. I hook charger up and it says battery is full and goes directly into maintenance mode. I tried jumping it with a fully charged 12v battery and the same thing happens ie lights dim no click etc. I'm going to try and rock bike while in gear and then try to start it
Ok I put my sportster in 1st gear and pushed it several feet. I then attempted to start it and what ya know? It fired right up just like always!!! ?? Go figure. Was the flywheel and starter locked ? Something was drawing the juice but not allowing it to start ?
