Running Voltage Question
Hi all,
99 RKC w/ EFI, 108k on clock. 2 1/2 year old Deka battery. Started to get the "I don't really want to turn over" sound and action. I'm on the road but fortunately I get her home. I go buy a battery from Harley dealer and as I'm testing it after install with seat off battery reads 14.35 at idle and 14.43 at approx. 2500 rpm (no tach).
Do I have a problem?

Voltages sound fine, however with a high mileage bike there are a few other things worth checking, as the battery voltage may not all be getting to your starter. Disconnect, clean and refit both ends of both main battery cables, plus the starter relay wires. Use a little protective grease on them (eg dialectic) to protect them.
