Default Routing LED mirrors through handlebars

Hi all,

Would appreciate your thoughts on a couple of questions.

I'm installing LED mirrors on my Softail (Blackline). Everything with the install is good, but I would like the wires through the handlebars, and not have an external install per the instructions. A few questions:

--The easiest approach would be to run the mirror wires through the handlebar without first removing the wires that are already running from the switch houses through the bars. Is that even possible, or should I not even consider it? Do all of the wires need to be pulled through at the same time? Normally, I would think so, but the Blackline bars are pretty short.

--Assuming that I need to pull the wires out of the bars before routing the LED mirrors through them, do I need to remove the terminal connector from the end of the wires? I assume so, but want to double-check so as not to take on unnecessary work.

--Finally, if I do need to pull everything out, I want to wrap all of the wires (the existing wires and the LED mirror wires) in a single bundle. What should I as a sheath. What's on there pretty much looks like a heat shrink material.

Thanks much, appreciate your thoughts. I think the install should look really nice when all is said and done.

Thanks,

Bill

Sorry, to clarify, I'm wondering if I need to remove the connector housing (i.e., the plastic piece that clicks into the other plastic piece under tank) before pulling the switch housing wire through the handlebar. I imagine that, in any event, I can leave the metal terminal connectors on the wires when pulling them through, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

Posting a follow-up in case someone else has this question.

It turned out to be easy to route the LED mirror wires through the handlebars without removing the existing wires. The LED mirror wires are now in their own shrink tubing, and follow the path as the control module wires. Looks good. I used a trick that others recommended of using a shop vac to pull string through the handlebars, and then used that to guide the LED mirror wires.

Good luck.
