OK, I'm pretty bad at the electrical thing, so here's the deal, I bought some mirrors with integrated LED turn signals in them. Hacked off the stock ones, hooked up one side, using the two wires, not the ground.... Then when I go to the other side it blows a fuse everytime I touch the blue wire.... I know I'm supposed to have a voltage regulator or something along thopse lines in this setup to adjust for the lack of power the LED's use, but not realy sure where to wire it in, or which one of the m,any solutions I should use. I do have a set that I bout at the Autozone, as well as a set that I had from a buddies aftermarket blinkers we put on his ducati a while back.... not sure how to wire these and if I need one on each side, or one for the front and one if I do the back etc.etc.
One wire plus ground........ hmmmm.... ok, is there any instructions out there anywhere or anywhere anyone knows of a diagram of sorts? And no it's not the blinker fluid, I filled that up when I checked the clutch defibulator valve.
More info. Are they run/blinker? Blinker only? Two wires or three? This is important. Answer this and You'll get more help. Depending on the load equalizers One for each LED blinker.
They have two wires, and they have running lights as well as blinker in them. The load equalizers I have I do not know the specs. The ones I bout have a clamoing thing that goes on the wires that connects it to the wires, but I have no clue which wires etc, to connect to.... The old ones that I have and would prefer to use are black cable, and red cable...
if there is only two wires thay are just turn or run not both one wire is ground one is power if it had doth you would have three wires total for each mirror.. hope it helps
Ok, they're self grounding, one wire is running light, the other is for the blinker. Are you removing the existing front run/blinkers? If so use those wires, if not tap into them. Split solder and use liquid tape. While stripped turn on ignition and test with a voltage meter, the one that's hot is the running light wire. To confirm turn on blinker, the other wire will become energized on then off, on then off. Do this before removing the existing light or it won't blink. Also this is the wire you have to connect the load equalizer to, the other side of equalizer goes to ground or frame. I put mine under the seat.
If they're blinker only (which they might be), one wire's ground the other is to blinker hot.
Thanks for the info, I already hacked off the stock blinkers, I can just wire nut them back together if need be, and one side I completely wired, soldered and taped back up. I am thinking I can follow those three wires down to inside of the light nacelle, and install the load equalizer and keep it inside there. So there is a purple, a blue and a black on the stock wiring harness, I am not sure exactly which ones I tapped into, but I will find out which is for what and make sure I run them as you have told me and I should be in business. I am pretty sure the black is ground.... the blue and purple have juice, not sure which is running though, will do some research to find out.
looks like running light is blue based on what I've found online.... So I'll go into the nacelle, and cut the blue wire.... I'll then wire it to the load equalizer, then back to the blue wire.... then I'll hook up the other wire on the Load equalizer to the black wire in the same harness inside the nacelle. I'll then go back to the blinker/mirror area and with the wires exposed, turn on the lights, and touch the wires to the blue and the purple, and if it doesn not work, I have them backwards and can easily touch them the other way, now hopefully this does not blow another fuse, and I can wire them together and move onto the other side. Heres the other question, are the two front ones on the same circuit, and I should run them both completely before I try to turn it on? And for further reference.... I hooked up the one side, and it blinked normal about 4 blinks, then started blinking extra fast..... thats when I cut the other side off, and this all went to ****. But on the first side I never did a load equalizer or anything.

Yeah, that's exactly what happens when there's either no equalizer or an ineffective one. It blinks normal at first and then speeds up. It won't hurt anything to let them run that way for testing purposes.
Based on what you're describing about hooking up the equalizer it sounds like you don't have a plug-and-play unit, if you get a plug-and-play it'll make your life a lot easier. You just unplug a connector under the seat and plug the equalizer inbetween. Good luck!
