Default Fried Tachometer

Hey guys
I have a 93 flhtc. My voltage regulator went out on me a few days ago. It didn't just go out it spiked and fried everything, Battery, all the light bulbs, my brand new NEMZ TSM I just bought and installed, the oil psi and volt gauge (these two I think are just fuse from switch) I just got new TSM from NEMZ. Very good folks. When I called them they let me have it at cost. I will start the install tomorrow and find bad fuse.
When the V/R fried everything it did something to my tachometer. I had my bike idling at 900 RPM now it shows nothing and at 50 mph it shows about 500 RPM. Someone told me it could be calibrated or reset and made to work.
Does anyone know anything about this and if so can I do it and how???????

Sounds more like the high voltage killed it. I'm not aware of any cal or reset proceedures.

Default Thanks

Thanks NHRide1 for the reply.
I talked to Bud of mine that's up on this stuff and he told me he thought it might be a bad connection and that the wire i'm looking for is pink, so i'll get started on the repairs shortly. Right now i've bin doing some riding. I just bought this bike recently and some of the wiring was not right but i've got it pretty much squared away. The bike is running GOOD and the progressive suspension is on time. I had to replace V/R and it was hooked to the Battery and not to the 30 amp breaker, (relay) that was the reason for the spike. i'm really getting an education. Anyway, thanks for the input and I will post the fix I come up with or the name of the wrench that fixes me.
