After periods of inactivity, say a month or so, the security system on my 2009 CVO Softail Springer always seems to have trouble recognizing the FOB. It catches on eventually, but not before A LOT of noise and pissing off the neighbors. Anybody else have this problem and if so, what did you do about it? The bike is on a tender when I can't be riding and the battery is always topped off. Any ideas??
Thanks!
Doesn't sound like the security system to me. If your bike is making a lot of noise, I assume you mean it is trying to turn the engine over? If it is doing that then the security system is fine IMHO. More likely you have a problem with the starter electrics or starter clutch. At least consider that as a possible problem.

No, I'm sorry, should have been more specific. When I say "noise", I'm referring to the alarm.
mine would recognize and function correctly with my daily carry FOB, but the stored one i had on a shelf close to the bike, wouldnt disarm on the first try, usually on the 2nd but definately by the 3rd, and ONLY when i put the FOB on the seat, after that it was fine
