Lightbulb 1994 FXDL Stop/Run/Turn Conversion question

Hey all,

I'm looking to do a stop/run/turn conversion on my 94 Dyna Low Rider, however no company offers a factory correct wiring harness. I really don't want to alter the wiring harness.

Any suggestions how I could do this? OR...if you know the type or part number for the HD harness connectors if need to do the conversion properly?

Thanks guys!
Neal

Neal, I suspect you have bumped into a feature of the current accessory market, which is that it doesn't cater for older models, such as your bike and mine. Later Harleys use different electrical connectors to our older bikes, which is what makes current kits non-compatible. To retro-fit current kits you need to employ a little ingenuity!

One way around this is to seek out an auto wiring components supplier, as you should be able to buy compatible connectors, pins, etc as used on your bike, to modify the new parts. Otherwise simply wire them in using universal connectors, as you feel fit. I will be surprised if you will find a suitable easy adapter.

There are many current accessories that are very tempting, but the market for Harleys today is many times bigger than it was when our bikes were made - we're in an exclusive minority!

grbrown,

Oh yeah, I know what you're sayin'.It seems like they stop supporting everything before 95'. GO FIGURE! Lol

Anyway, I was thinking that very same thing about re-wiring with my year connector. I asked my HD stealer if they could provide a connector for my harness, and they sounded like it wouldn't be an issue. So I'm figuring I'll go that route. $75 for the HD Stop/Run/Turn cable, and a few more $$$ for the harness connectors, and a few minutes looking at my bikes schematic and I'll be set.

Thanks,
NEAL
