This might be discussed somewhere else if so I apologize ahead of time.i recently purchased a used 06 street glide the bike runs great, but as I'm riding I noticed the voltage gauge would spike and drop and the radio will shut off then back on but nothing else.i went thru and tested the charging system and found nothing out of spec.every time it does it I get code b1006 any ideas

B1006 indicates the voltage is out of range. I suspect your voltage regulator is failing intermittently. Although its most likely the voltage regulator you should check the stator too. There are stickys in this section to help you troubleshoot it.
Change the failing component ASAP to avoid further damage to your electrical system.
I did the step by step diagnoses and found nothing, ive tried to duplicate it in the garage with no luck so im going to change regulator and will post a update .thanks
Michael,
Welcome to the forum. I think you're on the right track, B1006 is Accessory line Voltage over 16V for 5 seconds. Like nhrider1 said allowing the bike to run with the higher voltage could damage the battery and/or the stator.
Enjoy the new bike.

Reason: 16V
also check your connections on the battery, positive and negative, both ends. a loose connection can also cause a spike like you describe. It may be worthwhile to have the battery tested also ,a plate shorting out intermittantly could also cause your symptoms. Since you tested the charging system , and it appears ok , it the battery and connections check out would look for a intermittent short.
