Can you add a Tach to a 2013 FLST?
I have a old friend that own a 2013 Heritage. He is old school and wants to put a Tach on the Handlebar mount. I found a 2013 HD Accessory catalog. They offered a "mini" tach. It is Obsolete. I did copy the instructions and I don't see how and where the Tach would get it's signal. Looking at the HD Wiring Diagram the ECM or BCM has No Tach output. Just a Can High and Can Low.
I don't understand if the odometer shows RPM there has to be a signal..right?
I was able to talk with a Harley Tech advisor in Milwaukee. He stated HD does not offer this option.....reason....was not a big seller....so they dropped the option. He advised NOT to tap into any wire to "create" a Tach option on the handlbars.....so of coarse I came to HD Forum....If anyone can do this this group can. Please advise.
