Question Repair/replace or Convert?

I am at a crossroads as to what to do with the electronics on my new (to me) 1994 1200 Sportster. The previous owner, an assumed meth head without a clue, hacked, spliced and completely removed different components from the wiring harness, it still looks like a plate of spaghetti in some places, so I've spent the last few weeks rewiring and trying to do some lighting upgrades to LEDs. I pretty much have had to rewire about 50% of the bike... so far. It's beginning to seem that I fix one problem and two pop up... Eventually I intend on stretching/raking, adding a springer front end and turning it into and old school chopper. My current problem, and the reason for my consternation, the Turn Signal Module is bad. I've done all the tests on it I know to do, voltage, continuity, ohms, resistance, etc. and it's just plain dead. I have lights, brake lights and emergency flashers but no blinky for turning, and yes I used incandescents for ALL the testing. I know I've found and rewired all the lighting correctly, well, because they work, and I CAN read a wiring diagram, it is a picture after all.

So here's where the dilemma happens. I think I should remove and replace the circuit breaker cluster with a new aftermarket fuse block and flasher components as well as eliminating about HALF the Deutsch connectors, I hate them and they're not ascetically pleasing(they're ugly). (Expensive, longer down time, LOTS more rewiring. BUT then I would have standard fuses and a blinker switch just like a normal vehicle. Remember, it's going to be chopped eventually.)
My Friends say I should just buy a new TCM and add a load equalizer for the LEDs, do the rewiring, leave it at that and start riding it again. (Cost about the same, less downtime, still a buttload of rewiring.
I've added 10" to 12" of extra wire to what I've already replaced so I have less splicing to do later on.
I would like to hear KNOWLEDGEABLE opinions on BOTH these options. I know my second option is basically a repair and ride, but regardless I'd like input.
I would also like to forego the Harley TCM and go with aftermarket. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Since it sounds like you have most of the wiring straightened out, you can buy a Badlands load equalizer with self cancelling turn signals in it.
