Battery shows at 12.6-12.7 volts static charge (bike off) and drops to 12.4-12.5 with the key on, engine off.
Bike starts off charging at 14+volts. as it warms up, I cant get more than 13-13.5v out of it at 2000 rpm. at idle I get just over battery static voltage (12.5-12.6)
stator checks "good" with no short to ground noted, and 26+vac on both wires
Primary oil is relatively fresh, and does not smell "electrical"
Regulator is brand new (less than 100 miles on it) and replaced the old one for the same issue. No voltage leak backflow to ground (no voltage measured at the stator connector)
all tests in the service manual and ETM point to no problem, but Im not fully convinced that the charging system is at 100%.
Think calm thoughts! At the head of this section we have a couple of Stickies on checking your charging system, which may give you a fresh perspective on your system. Bear in mind that a dodgy battery can give false readings, so follow the Stickies right through.
