I have a 2004 ultra classic and my charging sys. Isnt working. When we started troubleshooting the voltage regulator we found that the red wire from the VR doesnt go to the battery. When I researched the wiring diagram it showed the red wire goes to a copper post. I was unable to fond a copper post or block. Everyone who has any input says the red from the VR goes to the battery. Does anybody have the answer?

I think you should take your bike to a competent wrench. I believe you are in over your head. This is not meant as an insult, but sometimes dollars paid upfront outweigh the cost of trail and error.

However, should you decide to do this yourself, then start here:

I would also pick up an HD Service Manual.

Copper post or block is the main CB, usually located on the back side of the fuse block area under the seat, could be located near rear fender area too (I'm not sure on a touring bike).
