2014 SG Light issues
Hey all,
Having a weird issue with my 2014 Street Glide. Had the 10K service done this summer and this has been happening since I got it back.
While riding, the red indicator light comes on the speedo, which indicates that one or more of the lights are not working. When this happens, all of my lights except the headlight and one of the turn indicators on the rear turn off. If I shut the bike down and restart it, the red indicator light turns off and all of the lights are back to working properly. There is no rhyme or reason to this, it just randomly happens. I rode 250 miles without issue, and it just came on this morning on my 15 mile ride to work.
Any clues as to what is going on? Thank you. I installed my own 12" Monkey Bars about 9,000 miles ago, otherwise all of the electrical is stock.

One time i took it into dealer, and they did some type of ECU update and it caused this same type behavior. Check your brake and rear running lights. Mine were out. I noticed it immediately though. Evidently the dealer tech did not program the ECU back properly and had to redo it to get it right.
I've got a 2016 Road King and the small red light on the speedo came on. Owner's manual says this is the "Security System" light....but I don't have a security system. Others on this forum correctly suggested that it may be a light bulb out somewhere. Sure enough, no taillight or license plate light. Easy fix? Nope, the bulb was good and I was getting no power to the connector pins that should control those lights. Power to the brake light element and turn signals pins were OK. I checked these at the connector under the taillight lens and at the other end of the harness which is under the seat...no power to that particular pin.
I've got a Vance & Hines FuelPack module installed which bluetooth connects to my smartphone and displays error codes. "B2168 Running Light Short Low" displayed. I cleared the code and all was working well again. I just wonder how long?
