Default Will it work?

Hey Y'All. Been a long time since I was on here but I need some electrical help. Like every one else I'm fine with the nuts & bolts but a little intimidated when it comes to electrical. Short story... I'm building my first ground up chopper. The motor is a 83 XL 1000 and now in an older Paughco frame. The original platform was an XLX. I'm almost done with the build and now faced with the wiring. The bike is stripped of any and all unnecessary crap. In short, it only has the motor, a head light and a tail light. There are no accessories, not even a speedo. I've drawn up a diagram to wire it. I was hoping one of you electrical wizards can tell me if it will work, and/or what needs to change. I used the service manual (pt #99484-85) electrical diagram to base my cannibalized harness on. Thanks in advance.

Should work but I’d bring an additional ground to the frame not just the rear engine mount. The lights are self grounding to the frame and the engine vibrates too much to be reliable long term.

Ranger73 Good to know. Never thought about that. I'll do it. That relay is really what has me bubble f##ked. Does it kick the lites off while it cranks. Again not an electrical kinda guy but, I'll try anything twice. (Well not anything)

No, it’s just the amp draw of the starter takes all the power so the lights go low or out.
The relay switches ground to the starter as the starter has its own power from the battery. The ground just pulls in the solenoid
