Aftermarket lighting on a 97 sportster
Hey people I recently purchased some aftermarket lighting both halogen and led lights. What kind of upgrades do i need to do to make sure my bike doesn't die? I'm not very knowledgeable about these things, and want to make sure my bike can take it. Everything is pretty much stock to my knowledge any help would be appreciated thanks.

well the stock hd system is 18>22 amps. for a margin, take 20% off to insure battery charging so 14>17amps @ 12.8volts = 179>218 watts. count up your electrical load watts to see if it falls into the safe range. grins and giggles, head light is 55 watts, tail 15 watts and the rest 20 watts and to run the engine 64 watts so, 154 watts total, you are good to go.
