helping a nieghbor out, he said he put the battery in incorrectly. Since he replaced it with a new one. It won’t start-no lights. even with all 3 ignition switch wires disconnected theres 12.74 voltes to the three 15 amp circuit breakers once the battery is connected. Did he fry something?

Have no power to the starter relay (small wires) when start button is pushed, new ignition, battery, circuit breakers are good, any ideas why? 88 FXRS

Start with basic troubleshooting:

Clean all electrical connections.
Connect all wires to ignition switch.
Connect battery cables.
Check voltage at both posts on main breaker, tell us what the results are.
