Have a question about the passing lights..When i remove my old passingnlight there are 2 wires attached in te bulp..A grey one for power and a vlack one for grounding... The passing licht a wanna buy has only on grey wire.. My question is how to conect the new passing light so that everything Wireing
is working
Zanthamos, I will buy teh passing lights from a marketplace. there is no connector with it... At the bottom of the new bulp there is only the grey wire sticking out of the lamp.
Is there a connector where you put in both the electrical wire and grounding wire to one wire on the bulb
Just asking these questions, because i like the type of passing light i wanna buy
It’s hard to tell without having access to the lights. But, I’m thinking the back housing might be the ground, and they expect it to get=a connection through contact with the light housing.
Most of the newer lights have a 2 wire connection, power and ground going to a plug.
Older lights use the frame and bucket to ground the light.
You need to adapt the new light to what you have available.
Looking at the picture you posted, those include the bucket. If you remove the bulb you'll see the bulb is grounded to the bucket.
And the grey wire connects either with a screw or a plug in connection. Make sure you insulate the grey wire so it doesn't short out.
