Default Still Learning! (Battery Conditioning Pigtail)

On my recently acquired XL1200T there is a little white connector sticking out between the seat and the left hand side cover.
I had a Facebook Messenger discussion with the local dealer, but didn't send him any photos, and he reckoned it was the connector for a battery charging/conditioner.
I ordered an adaptor, from Amazon, for my BC Battery Controller/Charger and when it arrived it did not fit the connector. I didn't complain but requested a return as it is not fit for purpose.

When I tried to find one to fit the sticking out connector I started to suspect it was not a standard Harley Davidson connector so dug deeper. Thanks to a link on Shanneba's signature I had a look into the service info site (https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....cle/lookupForm). I quickly realised that the little white connector had been installed by a previous owner and was not the standard HD connector.
Removed the side pannel, released the bogus connector and tried the one I'd got from Amazon. Switched on the charger and away it went!
The correct adaptor for my controller was right in the first place and is at
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B077WFJRTV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B077WFJRTV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Embarrassingly cancelled the return, luckily it was very easy and to make up for it I wrote a nice review of the product on the Amazon site!

The adaptor that gave me so much trouble. Should have checked the manual in the first place, just presumed this was the correct connector but should have realised it did not even have a cover.

That connector looks like it could be for heated gear (jacket, etc.)

Could be, I thought Optimate battery tender but not familiar with heated clothing here in the UK although some people use them.
