Rough Roads
Recently I road about 20 miles on super rough road (5mph, dodging giant rocks, ruts, and mud holes). Made it fine, but when I got back I noticed my head and tail lights weren't working. Turns out the "virtual splice" (term from the wiring diagram) that powered the lighting relay failed. I got all that fixed up after beating my head in the wall, but a question for you all - any ideas to minimize splice failures on older, high mileage touring bikes when on rough roads? All I can think of is lowering the tire pressure to make it more bouncy, and reducing the air pressure in the shocks a bit to give it more travel. I can carry a compressor and the fine shock pump, so this is no worry, but it's a hassle.
Sticking to the pavement ain't gonna happen.
