I know a little, but not enough. I just put an aftermarket header on my 2014 103 RoadKing. What a friggin pain I'm my ***. Shoulda went with v&h like I planeed.
one of the bungs for the O2 sensors is waaay outta place from the stocker and the sensor cable is too short to run the way it was to the connector. Here's my question. CAN I SIMPLY SPLICE IN A SIMILAR GAUGE WIRE TO LENGTHEN IT OR DOES IT HAFTA BE A CERTAIN TYPE OF WIRE? I'm thinking the sensor is a type of analog input, not digital. Anyone tell me yay or nay for sure?
I will definitely check it out. Off hand, I'm concerned that the connection plugs between cable and extension will be unhidden/unsightly in the open for to being too short to make it behind the side cover. Thank you. Still like to hear if these can be spliced. I suppose maybe get an extension, then remove the connectors and solder it? Idk. Is that what you meant?
You cou,d do that or just look and see what you have to work with. Generally I'm against modifying main harness so I'd go on the O2 sensor side for the splice.

I ended up splicing ( soldering ) wire into one of my 02 sensors ( can't remember which one ) . As long as you use the same gauge wire you'll be good . I have an FP3 and my readings out of both are the same , so length of wire didn't affect it at all . I added about 6" of wire just below the connector and used an " in line " solder to join them .
