Hello everyone, i have a 2007 Electra-Glide. the other day i got off work and rode 40mins to a co workers house, when i pulled up in the drive way and shut the bike, and soon as i did the alarm started going off, so i tried to turn the ignition back over to start it up and i had nothing at the start button, so i looked up how to enter my pin and after following the sequence, i noticed that i dont have anything where my odometer reading is. The alarm continued to go off, so i tried to replace the battery in the buttonless fob and it did not respond. the alarm eventually stopped on its own. so my co worker let me borrow his truck/trailer to get the bike back to the house and into the garage, the next day i took the side panels off to access the fuse blocks, and im getting power to each of the fuses, when i turn the ignition on, the headlight comes on, the fuel pump primes, and the radio cuts on, but i dont have turn signals, or anything showing on my odometer still, i noticed while checking the fuses, there is one relay right behind my battery that is tucked down into a grommet. i pulled it up to look at it and it was hot to the touch, does anyone know what this might be for? or have any direction they cant point me to into process of elimination. the battery is reading 12.8v at the moment. Thank you in advance
so i replaced the starter relay, and the brake light relay. i still have nothing at the switch, put a volt meter on the starter and tried to push the start button and there was no drop in voltage, im getting power to the starter, and the battery is still reading 12.8 v, i took the outer fairing off to check the connections on the back of the speedo, im getting power to it but its still not showing numbers on the odometer. im starting to think its something to do with the security module.
Have you checked for trouble codes ? Check and post back . The codes may bring some light to your issue . I would check the 2 connections at your Turn signal module and go from there . Could be faulty or corroded .. Also there is a connection to the antenna module , check the connection there as well .
I did read that , sorry . I would still check your connections at the turn signal module as well as the ecm , could be dirty / corroded or possibly came loose . I could be wrong , but I'm pretty sure that relay is your ignition relay , should not be hot to the touch , could very well be the culprit .
Odd, i dont have anything in the top slot in the grommet. The guy i bought the bike from must have switched them around. My relay is in the bottom of the two on that picture
