Baron tach install problem
'04 TC88 EFI softail
instructions were very clear.
all the wires they said were in the coil wire harness were there just as described.
I hooked all wires and single fire adapter as instructed.
Only deviation was using crimp butt connectors instead of scotch locks provided.
and hooked power wires (tach and light) direct to fuse block
fired her up and thought all was well, showing 1200 rpm at idle
Took it for a ride and needle bounces around a lot, and it's not accurate at all over 2800-3000 rpm.
I know I've wound it well above that, but it's never gone above 3300
hearing that tachs are very ground sensitive, I soldered a length of wire to reach directly to battery ground
No change in needle bounce or inaccuracy
any guidance or help?

I have a Baron tach on my road king, and the needle bounces like an epileptic basketball player.
as far as accuracy, doesn't really matter just find your shift point from the engine sound and translate 2 the visual.
