Hi everyone I have a 96 heritage.the right hand side blinker stops when the revs are above idle, have tried a new module and it did the same.blinker works fine when stopped and engine running but stops a a fast rev like if you're downshifting etc.has anyone have any ideas where to start looking.thanks alot
Does it return to normal when the RPM's go back down, or once it is out you have to stop the bike and restart it? You already ruled out the Module, unless that one is bad as well. Try swapping the bulbs, left to right, and see if it happens on the left side then. After that, break out the DVOM, and chase wires doing a wiggle test. Maybe there is an open somewhere that only happens when the bike vibrates under rev.
Na you have to push the switch again..i have a auto electrician mate who's coming over sat ..so we,ll start at the front and go to the back till we find the gremlin...thanks again.ill let you know what happens
Wow! Thats exactly whats started happening to my 95 Sportster!
Well,
almost... Sorry, Aussiemick, if you thought this might be the answer...
My Sportster indicators are staying on at higher revs. But the trouble seems to have started on the RH side, just like yours (coincidence?) with engine off it flickers instead of blinking. At anything above tickover (riding) both sides will light up but not flash.
Hi guys we seemed to have fixed it.how,I don't know..we moved a earth connection to another place, pushed a dodgy wire into the connection box, that's what I call it I don't know the technical term for it and it worked..put the seat back on and back to the **** again..seat back off, pulled the connection boxes apart sprayed some contact cleaner in took the fuses out cleaned with son wet,dry and contact cleaner and away it went.went on a 200 km ride and it didn't miss a beat.so l don't know what we did.i thank you for your input and hope you all have a good Christmas and. Keep away from the. Plague.thanks again
