Just bought a 08 street glide 28k miles about 2 weeks ago. Was out riding tonight and the speedometer quit working, the check engine light came on and when I pulled up to a light, I noticed it was idling a little higher than normal. Got back on the highway to get home and romped on it. It started working again. Has anyone had this issue?

 

Check connectors, sounds like the speedometer connector is not fully seated.
