2014 Street Glide
Was about to go out for a ride bike started up fine backed out my drive way let her run for bout 3-4min n realized, I for got my smokes shut her down n when I came back turn the ignition on went to start and she would start to turn over and then just a loud clicking. After a couple try’s wouldn’t even turn over just loud clicking from starter area, thought maybe battery put the jump box on it and it did same, so assumed it was probably the starter borrowed my friends off his 14 Street Glide to test it and same thing, so I decided to charge the battery took the starter n Battery to autozone tested both and both Tested good.
I just got a Starter Relay yesterday and plan on going threw cleaning all the grounds and battery cables both ends then go thru the fuse box pulling, checking & cleaning the fuses and replacing the starter relay tomorrow morning, I’ve been told that even if the battery passed it still could be bad so debating on getting a new battery
Battery’s 6months old and no I don’t keep it on a tender, I usually am a daily rider but it was raining which very seldom happens in San Diego, CA but there was a pretty big rain storm that came thru couple days before so I didn’t ride and she was covered under patio but did have a lot of water built up were the cover would allow it to puddle..
Dry out all connectors that could have been wet, check battery cables on both ends. Loose contacts will do that, clicking indicates the start relay is working as the loud click is the solenoid, put the bike in gear and roll it a little then into neutral, maybe the starter bendix isn't lighting up with the ring gear.
Thanks everyone I’m currently checking n cleaning fuses and fuse box, going to go back thru one more time and double check all wires n connections, and I’m hoping it starts up I’ll let you know the outcome later on today
