Default P2138

I did a fuelmoto top end 107,transmission and primary rebuild on a friend of a friend's 2008 street glide. He put apes on it in 2016 and has battled that code for the whole time since then. I fixed the plug on the throttle body because he had someone re-pin at one point and it was not good...two wires pulled right out of the plug while I was taking off the electrical tape that was on it. I cleared the codes and did a quick 50 miles for him to seat the rings and then gave the bike back to him...ran great...that fuelmoto power vision tune is pretty damn good. Anyway he calls the next day and it's in limited power mode with p2138...twist grip sensor. So I had him bring it back and I pulled the outer fairing and checked the 6 wires from the tgs to the plug in fairing for continuity and they all checked out ok. I checked to make sure none of the wires got crossed and put in the wrong spot...all good there. So I did the test on the tgs with a voltmeter and it tested out of range. So between the code for it and the range test it makes me think that the tgs needs to be replaced. When I tell him that he says it can't be because they replaced it shortly after the ape install and he still had the same issue. Now im wondering if it is the tgs and now im afraid to put in a new one and then it doesn't solve the problem. Not looking to buy the part and work for free. Lol. Any body have any ideas what to look for beyond what I've done or any experience with this damn tbw??? We have 2 big charity rides each of the next two weekends and he really wants to ride...told him I'd do my best...thats why I'm here. Lol ,Thanks in advance...

Did you do a search on that code in here? May save you some time waiting for responses

firefox is messing up my posting by dropping the connection, will try in shorter posts.
most systems today use two sensors as a safety check. there maybe an alignment issue in the grip.
the ecu sends voltage to the sensors and for a lack of a better word, one sends out a positive voltage and the other a negative (but it is not). as one voltage goes up, the other goes down but the output from both is the same and this output drives the throttle body which is a wheatstone bridge and balances out with the sensors output.
you can check the sensors with two vom's. as one resistance goes up, the other goes down but the output will be the same. the ecu does allow for a window or range and if out of this window, goes into limp mode.
last post was more into it, but firefox dropped the connection and the post was lost.

The code say twist grip sensor (correlation error). I tested it with the voltmeter and it's out of range at the start and at the end...im twisting the twist grip with the meter hooked up and its not starting or finishing in the range for either sensor.
Is there something besides the twist grip being bad that could be the cause? He says he replaced it once after the bar install and still had the same problem. Thanks again for the help..electrical is my weakness lol
