stay away from the ultra blue bulbs as they wash out in a dark night. also, most states have laws restricting the light to white. the 6000 kelvin temperature would be the bright white.
Yes. Just make sure you get one that is indexable so you can get it to focus properly. Not all do and while they spray a lot of light, it is distracting because of the lack of beam focus. I eventually went with a Daymaker.
The problem with LED in an enclosure made for an incandescent is light scatter. Many times they look really bright standing in front of them, but aren't as defined, have a proper cutoff, and can blind oncoming drivers.
