With the fuse out something is amiss.

I'm trying to get to the wiring diagrams in the service info portal
It use to be free but now it's wanting me to buy a subscription.
The front and rear brake light wire come together at some point____ I'll keep thinking on it

I can't get my head around this without a schematic to study

Hang in there someone will chime in
I have an 08 UC FSM Not positive it would be the same but I find it and spend some time looking

WP.

I appreciate it...in the meantime I am probing & poking around in the fairing...will soon remove the right hand switch cap assembly and see what's happening in there (if anything)

I'm OCD and at 73, I still can't stand anyone working on my stuff.

Not sure what I'm going to do when I get old!??

Unless you are working with a wiring diagram, poking and probing around makes no sense.

Slow down, take a deep breath and look at the brake light circuits on the wiring diagram, there are two circuits that are involved here, the control circuit and the power circuit.

The control circuit for the brake light relay is powered by the accessory circuit (pin 85 & 86 on the relay)

The power to illuminate the bulb is supplied by the brake light circuit (pin 87 and 30 on the relay).

I agree with Ripsaw, this will be impossible for us to find over the internet...

You must follow the wiring diagram and trace all the wires, something is crossed or connected wrong at a connector.

Link to wiring diagrams

Dan Would unplugging the brake relay and then see if the symptom remains be worth a try.

Thinking it might help to isolate one of the 2 ckts you mentioned

Keep in mind that they probably removed the pins from the plugs. So you not only have to match wires and wires to pin numbers. And be real careful which side you're looking at on plug and how the service manual is looking at it.

I was trying to check an ignition switch. Under a dash with a mirror. Five wires. Readings for off, on and start. Plug facing away. One problem was just simply making your brain understand touching the meter probe using a mirror 15 times.

I finally gave up and pulled the lower dash out and took the switch out .

Turn the ignition switch on.

Tell us exactly what components or lights are working properly.

It's a simple job to pull it all down, make sure none of the wires have insulation scraped off. Then using schematic in an OEM diagnostic manual make it right.

Been on here a long while. You see at least a post like yours were people trying to make a living rushing this screwing things up ever month.

It's just almost impossible to diagnose it however without seeing it. But just my opinion.

There is a lot of very smart people on here. Fixing it over the internet is like playing 6 moves ahead in chest.

Add on to the last video...not sure if this even pertains to my original issue, or if I should just move on from this.
