Harley Lithium Battery
I have a 2019 Street Glide Special with the 114 motor. Went to start it a couple of weeks ago and it didn't turn over (or did slowly then stopped). Figured it was time for a new battery. Went out and got the Harley Lithium 8V battery. Install went pretty good, got it in, started right up. Took my core back to the dealer and on my way home, the volt meter read about 14.5 volts. This was a little higher than previously but not crazy. When I stopped at a light, I looked down and my Navigation screen was flashing on and off and the volts were jumping up to above 15 (in the red zone). Now that got my attention. I reved it up a bit and the voltage dropped down but it got me pretty nervous how high it went (well into the red) at the light. What to do??

If voltage went high, you got a bad volt ref. Odd revving up, would bring it down, rather than up.
Maybe soimething is wrong with your charging system. 3 year old battery, should not have failed, if rode, or charged.
Put a meter on the battery, rev it up, should not go over 14.4ish. Put battery on a charger

Bike had about 5,000 miles. Could it go bad that quickly? And could the addition of the Lithium battery be a contributor? I had the lead acid one before and it seemed fine then. No spikes but a little high (14 volts and a little above) oddly, the volts seem like they started to rise when I added LED turn signals in front and LED brake lights in back.

Add: The HD LI battery isn't 8V it's 8AH.
