I have a 2007 Electra glide which I knew had an old battery. I charged it up to take to get state inspection completed. After charge I had a total of 5 good starts including engine running time of about an hour. Parked for the night and went out today to ride. Turned to run and heard the pump run. Hit the start switch and one small click and that’s it. Figured the battery finally gave out. Replaced the battery and same thing happened. When I have the ignition switch in run the speedo doesn’t power up along with radio. If I move to accessories the speedo and radio power up.
Checked voltage on battery which indicate 12v. Turn the ignition switch to on the volts drop to 4. Pressing the start switch did nothing to the volts across the battery.
both old and new battery are acting the exact same way. I know I could have bought a bad battery but I’m looking for any suggestions in case anyone else has seen this before.
Like TSheff said charge the batteries and have them load tested. Check your battery cables and their connections.
When you have a good battery installed and start the bike measure the battery voltage while the bike is running. You should see a reading between 13 - 14.5V.
If the charging system looks good check for current draw while the bike is off.
I hate to admit it but the new battery was bad. Had an internal short off the shelf which was causing the issue and the old battery was just so old it wouldn't carry the CCA anymore. All good and up and running now. Kinda, need to to figure out some clutch issues. If anyone is an expert on that let me know......

Sorta the same issue, battery checked fine, but was bad. Sometimes it’s as simple as that yet doesn’t seem so simple when going through the frustration.
As to clutch help, help is in abundance here, in between some straight nonsense that I find amusing. But yeah, ask away. I defer as I am more a doer than a teacher/explainer. If I could articulate like the knowledge guys here, I would be even more awesome than I am already, j/k. Ride On!
The articulation comment was a compliment before anyone gets butthurt. I am down with fixing stuff and drinking a beer, explaining why or how I fix things has never been my strong suit but to those that do, I appreciate it. Sometimes I don’t even know why I chose to do x and it works. It just comes to me. Almost like “aha!”

Clutch is pretty staight forward stuff. You didn't state what the issue is. I'll bet if you get a H-D Factory Service Manual, follow the adjustment steps, and make sure you have the correct fluid and level, 98% of the time your clutch issues disappear. The other 2% are actaully worn out parts.
