Default speedo swapping

I have a 2022 48 and would like to use a speedo from a 2022 - 2024 LowRider S on it.

Long story, but I just want to know if it's even remotely possible. Referring to wiring it up and having it work is all I'm wondering about, nothing about how it fits and all that.

Replacing it is not that easy due to the mileage of the speedometer. I don't know how it is in this model, but usually the mileage is saved in the speedometer memory and when you plug in another one, it will have a vin error.
Probably if you get a new speedometer (brand new with 0 mileage) from the dealer, they can pair the speedometer with your motocycle and transfer mileage from old to new one.

The mileage is not saved in the speedo. If that were the case people would buy a low mileage speedo when selling a hi mileage bike. The mileage is stored in the ECM. Yes, you will get a VINERR message if you try to install a used one on your bike. If you buy a new one, after like 27 miles, it locks itself your ecm and the correct mileage will show. If you do buy a used one you can use a digital tech type tool IE: Diag4Bike, centurion etc to remove the VINERR message. I have done it personally so....

You answered your own question. You cannot buy a low mileage speedo and fit it as it will show VINERR and anyone buying that bike will know it has the wrong speedo on. By then fitting a new one the correct mileage will show up.

See instruction sheet for combo sportster speedo:- serviceinfo.harley-davidson.com/sip/service/document/1874965595401640321?locale=en_GB

Both the ECM and speedometer retain the odometer value.

As the Low Rider S speedo is a CAN bus device it will probably work except for the fuel gauge if it has one. For some strange reason on a Sportster the fuel gauge is wired to the speedo and isn't on the CAN bus; the Low Rider S speedo has 4 wires going to it and the Sportster has 5 wires going to it.
