The battery on my 2010 Sportster 883 Iron seems to be drained. Tried charging but won't take it.
Now the the alarm goes off as soon as I put the key in the ignition, and I need to transport the bike to another location.
Any tips on how to disable the alarm (transport mode?) without power ? No instrument lights when I turn the ignition key, so seems to be totally drained.
The alarm works off the battery. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. Move it and deal with it later. FYI - keep the battery on a Battery Tender when not riding it. When an AMG battery dies it will NOT hold a charge again.
The siren works off a small rechargeable 9volt battery. Without the main battery in place the security system cannot be deactivated correctly.
Just putting the key in the bike shouldn't set the siren off. The siren goes off if the fob is not detected and the bike is moved I believe. Unfortunately my bike is keyless so I don't know how the fobs work back in 2010.
I can only suggest you get a big car battery and connect it to the bike such that you can get it into transport mode.
