BCM error codes

Default BCM error codes
I just purchased a 2018 FLHX(Street Glide), 10,000 or so miles. It is throwing 3 different codes and all are pointing towards the BCM or CANbus?? U0001, U0184, U0140… My entire infotainment system will flash and stay on maybe 30 seconds max then go back off and repeat the cycle indefinitely. Sometimes it may stay on for longer however it ultimately shuts off.

Is the bike completely stock? If not, give a rundown on what is not stock.

As far as the dealer made me aware, the only thing done to it is a key fob delete.

So, it has OEM handlebars, lights, etc.?

Also, when did this start happening? Just all of a sudden?

That is correct. Everything I’ve read goes to stuff like that and that’s why I’m totally stumped.

and as far as I know it was all of a sudden like I said just purchased it yesterday.

If I were you, I’d take it back to where you bought it.

Is there anything easy you could recommend to do or look at? The dealership is quite a drive. 2-3 hours if I can keep from making that drive again

There are several things that can cause these codes. In your case, the U0001 code most likely caused the other U-codes. Without an electrical diagnostic manual, a wiring diagram, a multimeter and the knowledge to troubleshoot circuits, you’ll be chasing your tail. The dealer will connect the bike to their computer to troubleshoot and determine the cause of the codes.

1. Take the battery out and get it load tested. Then report back.
2. How old is the battery?
3. Check all fuses.
4. If all checks out good take it back and have the dealer address the codes.
