Hi all, Ive a 2008 XL1200N Nightster and its got the self-cancelling indicators / trafficators. Is there any way to disable the self cancelling feature?
At best I think its unnecessary and I dont want it, at worst I think its dangerous not having 100% control of when they switch off.
I know some will say they love the feature and its the best thing since sliced bread but I just dont want it.
Cheers guys. 👍
you can sell it and buy an old Japanese motorcycle. They let you leave the turn signals on forever.
To be honest Ive had mainly old Japanese motorcycles, with a few Italian and German bikes in the mix as well!
Do you know when HD introduced them? May have to just buy an older one!
I expect there is a way to eliminate ( wire around) the TSS module
Thanks EightEight, from looking further on Google it might be a blue/white wire that feeds from the speedo. If its disconnected, they may work without the self-cancelling. Now Ive just got to find the TSS module! 🙄

I believe the TSM uses vehicle speed sensor to cancel the turn signal. That way when sitting at a light it don't.. You may try to disconnect the signal to the TSSM.
As far as bike with a perminate switch, you'd have to buy a 65 to about 71 pan / shovel. After that, you had to hold down the button for it to flash.. Not sure when they went to self canceling.
Add: saw that 88 had the answer.. I didn't have my first cup of coffee yet..

You could TRY disconnecting the Light Green/Violet Stripe wire fron the TSM/TSSM. That carries Serial Data. I don't know if that would cause and Error/DTC messages. You don't want to disconnect the the Vehicle Speed Sensor because the fuel injection gets data from that to make the bike run correctly. Don't cut any wires. Maybe just unpin the LGN/V wire from the TSM and give that a try.

Thanks for the reply.
I definitely wont be cutting any wires, the bike runs great and I wouldnt want to risk killing it!
If it did cause an error message, would it clear and be ok once plugged in again?
