My Road King is a 1998. This is the one that I blew a fuse and replaced it with a defective one. Once a good one went in no more problem with the fuse.
‘’However.. Both My Road King and my Springer have issue as of late starting intermittently using the hand control button. Replacing the starter relay fixes the Springer but then only lasts a little while. Another replacement and it works for a while, month.. 1500miles..
There are some oddities with the springer, it’s a lithium battery. No Agm that fit in the horseshoe oil tank could turn it over so I had to go lithium.. and only the lithium with over heat circuit can be reliable. However it’s a very small battery, so I added heat shield and air movement.
The king with AGM battery starts fine (bigger battery) but intermittently it won’t through the hand control button. Not often, sometimes. I put a starter button both bikes solenoid and they always start from there.there is a lot of drain on the battery to turn both engines over even with compression releases.
Both have factory starter relay’s. I think I’m screwing up explaining this. My terminology is wrong.. it’s the circuit breaker I’m calling a fuse. My apologies.
