My bike had been starting hard for a few days and today there was no fuel pump sound when I switched on run. Pulled the seat and the fuse in the fuse block was blown. Pulled it out and one of the clips in the slot is messed up and the new fuse won't seat. It's half way in and works but just a little movement and it will lose the connection.
Looks like I need to replace the fuel block and wondering if anyone has done this. What is cost, part number and how much of job was involved.
The other option a shop proposed is running a remote fuse set up for the fuel pump instead of replacing the block for just one bad slot. Any ideas on that?
sounds like the cavity in the fuse block that the fuse plugs into will not allow the fuse to completly engage into the female part of the connector. It is probably getting pushed rearward on that side of the fuse when you go to plug it in.
I concour with rydermike. remote fuse.
do it yourself for less than ten bucks. Those wires are easy to un-do from the back side of the fuse box. Then connect them to an in-line fuse holder you can get at any auto parts store.
the problem there is that you would have to cut those wires because there is no harness disconect for the fuse box. if you can just re-route that particular wire and put a separate fuse on it.
