Default Dyna ignition switch replacement

I have a 1994 Dyna FXDS and the ignition switch is failing. I bought a replacement switch, but when I tried to change it out I found the replacement has 2 wires but my original has 3 wires. The original has an acc position but the new one is for just 2 switch positions. Can I use the 2-wire version somehow, and if so, how do I connect it? OR, do I need to go back and get a 3-wire switch with acc position?
Thanks!

You could use it. However, all of your ACC, lights and anything else on that part of the system would always be on. No biggie. Use an ohm meter and put the ACC terminal on the coil, starter circuit.

There was an issue in the mid '90's with ignition switches melting due to the vendor cutting corners on materials. The solution was to route the power from the main breaker through a 30a yellow base relay to the fusebox to feed the ign, acc and lights.
The ignition switch simply channeled 12v from the main breaker to the control side of
the relay, so it didn't have to carry all the power. A recommended modification if you don't already have it.
