Default Light Pods.

On my 09 Fat Boy which I'm currently still waiting on (going on 10 weeks), I had/will have them install a set of light pods.

On my way home from wings tonight we stopped at a local HD shop and there was a gorgeous bike sitting out front with similiar lights on it. With the chrome and the sunlight fading, it looked fantastic. I struck up a conversation with the gentleman and he proceeded to tell me he had 120 lights on it and it took them 7 hours to install. I did not see where he had 120 lights on it unless he counted each little LED in each set. As in the ones above would have 10 per set of 6 or 60 bulbs.

Does anyone have pictures of theirs or input towards me adding more lights.

Also, this guy said NOT to buy them from HD but recommended another brand and for the life of me I forgot what he did say.

One more thing, I'm a telephone tech and wired my entire house electrically when I built it as well as several stereo systems in cars, is this something I could do myself.

How much is too much?

EDIT: UPDATE:

I'd like to thank everyone for their recommendation. I had Harley install the first set and I'll be adding more at a later date. I've found a local guy who sells what I want and will be assisting me adding them. SO far she's gorgeous. Enjoy

I spent a couple of hours today wiring in some more lights on my bike. The guy you talked with was counting each bulb. I used lights and accessories from CustomDynamics.Com. They have more selections than you can shake a stick at. They take it seriously.

I've seen different colors on countless bikes, but for my money I go with the white lights. They simply light up what you want to accent or show off, instead of drowning it in some fusion of one color.

A couple of tips: Tinker around with the placements of the lights first. Get a feel of where they will fit and where they will work the best. Keep them hidden. Also, it helps to do this in a low-light setting so you can see the effect. Use a 9-volt alkaline battery and hold the wires to the two terminals, and it will power the light so you can get a good idea. Also, the website has several different offerings for connection/terminals to keep from having to solder things.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

I agree to stay away from the hd brand. Not nearly as bright as some aftermarket and the hd brand are more $$$ too. I went with swint brand leds. Extremely bright and not too expensive. I'm currently switching from the blue lights to white to change it up a bit. The swint are also plug and play so no soldering. If you decided to go swint brand I'm selling my blue pods if you wanted to save a few $$$.
