Default LED Tag Light Problem

07 FLSTN. Relocated my tag (Softbrake relo kit), so I purchased a Custom Dynamics LED tag frame. I wired according to the intructions; white LED tag wire to existing tag light wire, and black tag wire to ground. I spliced into wires and used butt crimps for connections. LED tag light didnt work, plus the running light/existing tag light quit working (brake light did work). Turns out, this was blowing the fuse.

Called Custom Dynamics. Had me check LED using 9V battery, and it worked (and battery didnt get hot). They also told me to splice into the orange wire that powers the running/brake bulb (instead of splicing into the existing tag light wire, which others on this forum have done).

I did what they suggested. LED tag light still didnt work, and now the running light is VERY bright, and the brake light barely comes on. I removed LED tag and still have very bright running light, and brake light barely on. Suggestions?

It sounds like you may have the running and brake light wires reversed. If you're popping fuses, you may want to go over your ground wire(s).

I spliced into one wire (orange) so I'm not sure how they could be reversed??

Not popping fuses anymore.

Thanks.
